CRD80 Sound 80 DAB Radio

The good:

The acoustics are very unusual. Even at low volume the whole room appears full of sound, mellow yet with clarity and excellent response across the range. The sleep/wake functions make this an excellent bedside companion. If you need it, the "humane" alarm system works exactly as described. I can sleep through noisy alarms but with the Sound 80 I often find I'm awake and turning it off even before I can begin to hear it. How does that work? Weird. Very easy to "program" too. You won't need the manual after day one.

The bad:

The selector dial is a bit sensitive and so you have to be a bit careful, especially if you're setting the time for an alarm. The display shows that you have set an alarm but doesn't show for when, so you have to be sure you got it right first time. No problem if you want the same alarm each day (or choice of days) but a little worrying if it's a one-off custom alarm, like if you've got to be at Gatwick tomorrow to catch a flight.
